Rose Hill Cottage in Central Beaumaris

Very disappointing Negative: Unfortunately we didn't have a positive experience with the owner. A week before we were due to arrive he told us booking.com had made a mistake and double booked the house. He said he was doing us a favour in offering us another house, a 2 bed instead of 3 which we had paid for. He then offered a 3 bed but in a completely different town. As I was travelling at the time, I had to accept as didn't have time to request a refund and start searching again. We had booked and paid for this house in February. The new house was fine but a 20 min drive from Beaumaris. We had intentionally booked Beaumaris so that we could easily walk to the cafes and shops. When I complained about the situation the owner was very rude and accused me of being in the wrong for accepting the house offered. When I said I would complain to booking.com for their supposed error, he backtracked on his initial accusation that it had been their mistake. I have been using booking.com for years and never encountered a double booking. All in all a very negative experience which put a huge dampener on our family holiday.
